cheap deck usually give out engine noise when u add an amp for the highs, but this is the first deck ever, no engine noise. i also like the cool all blue coloring. didnt like the green much.

hmmmmmmmmmmm.......... still thinking, but havent thought of any yet, maybe i dont like the design on the box outside the deck, dont like it all blue with alpine logon on it, what is alpine logon?

i got the alpine 9851 for about a week already, before this deck, i used pioneer which give me mad engine noise. this is a great improvement in sound, no more filters, i have read other review about this deck before i decided to purchase one myself, but everything goes well for me, and liking it so far. i been hearing people having probs on install the thing and or dont know how to use them. well, i liked this one and go ahead and got everything alpine like speaker, amp, sub, and processor.

Sound quality and versatility

Alpine need I say more. I am very disappointed...I owned an alpine cd player for the last 3 years and had absolutely 0 problems. The moterized face worked flawlessly and was never in question on weather or not it would turn on. This new line of alpine has seriously shaken my confedence in alpine as a whole. Since I purchased this player I have had to return and exchange twice...first due to the motorized face stopped working...the second time because it would turn off from time to time and the face would only work sometimes....and i would have to take the plate off wait a few minutes and try again. I am installing my third 9851 tonight ...I hope third times the charm.
