Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $85.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Alpine cde 7856

Summary:
I bought this CD player for my 300zx. I was expecting it to be ok. I was very suprised. The clarity of this deck is outstanding. It also has a great internal amp. It ran my Polk GXR6 coaxials excellent. I have yet to skip this cd player, plays burnt CD's great. Alpine is by far my favorite Head Unit manufacturer.

Strengths:
Clarity Power (internal amp) Good looking Reliable

Weaknesses:
Only 1 preamp out. No built in EQ

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer, Blaupunt, Clarion, JVC, Rockford Fosgate, Sony. Alpine is the best of them all.

Price Paid:  $0.00 from circuit city

Summary:
i bought the alpine cde 7856 model reciever for my 94 galant and just switched from factory to aftermarket and my stereo sounds hot but i need new mids cuz the alpine gives out some high power.

Strengths:
when played at a reasonable volume the clarity and the way the bass hits the low notes is so real, like you got a system being played at a low volume.

Weaknesses:
to plain

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $160.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
Wonderful CD player..Love it! I replaced a JVC I had for three years and just stopped playing cd''s. Always was impressed with previous Alpine car cd players and gave this one a shot. I could immediately tell a difference between the JVC and this Alpine. The wife couls too. Clearer and more crisp sound. The JVC made me want to replace my stock speakers, but the Alpine makes them sing......GREAT DEAL TOO...

Strengths:
Looks, Sound Quality

Weaknesses:
preset button layout..the mute button is in the same line as the presets and at night it looks like preset number one

Similar Products Used:
JVC, other Alpine

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $180.00 from car audio shop

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
Excellent sound without complications! This is a real good choice at a really low price.

Strengths:
Nice, thunderous bass;easy to operate when you´re driving; disk doesn´t skip easily. It doesn´t matter if you have the factory-mounted speakers on your car, still the sound is great, bass frequency control allows you to select the best one for the capacity of your speakers, you''ll easily get a sound with practically no distortion.

Weaknesses:
It´s a little tricky to put the detachable face at first, but in a little while, you''ll find it easy.

clarion,kenwood,alpine

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $179.00 from Curcuit City

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
Overall this is a tremendous CD/Stereo for the money. I paid $180 a few years ago for a JVC that is half the stereo that this is. Now I have this at the same price.

Strengths:
Sound is tremendous. I simply can''''t believe my Trucks sound system sounds this good with the stock speakers that came with the truck.

Weaknesses:
Putting the face plate back on is slightly awkward. Not bad by any means, but for some reason I find it goes in at a funny angle. Also, the display lights are multi colored, but during the day they are tough to read because just the slightest bit of light adds glare to the display window. At night it looks cool though.
