Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $350.00 from thezeb.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 San Francisco CD70

Strengths:
Great sound quality, it plays everything I put in it, the microphone for the sound settings is awesome...very ingenious. It is so easy to operate... It has a lot of strenghts...I can't keep writing them.

Weaknesses:
BIG...the guys told me it wouldn't fit my Celica...they were right and I knew it...but I wanted it so I modified the stock radio location in the car and managed to make it fit...really looks weird but great. it has a separate remote control receiver...I don't like that. It would've been better like the rest of the head units that have an internal IR receiver.

Summary:
I was in Korea when I bought it in November 2001...it was the top of the line Blaupunkt at that time. When I went home in December, I installed it in my Celica. Wow...this thing really rocks...crystal clear sound and good power from the internal amplifier. Maybe the CD72 is not that good, but I can say that the CD70 is a fine piece of equipment.

Price Paid:  $380.00 from wholesaler through w

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 CD72 San Francisco

Strengths:
Controls and how cool it looks.

Weaknesses:
power output and music "enhancing" features

Summary:
Very dissapointing this is not a high quality head unit. The DSA (digital noise whatever) that is supposed to amplify the weakening frequencies only distorted my music. I predict that the amplifier only putts out about 15 watts (RMS) and not the 33 claimed.

Similar Products Used:
stock S2000 head unit that sounded just as good
