Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I'm no expert, but this is the best car stereo I have ever owned. It came with a 1986 Maxima I purchased awhile back and it is the best part of the car. I'm a baby boomer who grew up listening to top 40 music on an AM radio, so this little unit was sent straight from heaven in my estimation. I definitely traded up in this deal.

Strengths:
The remote control is nice since I am not used to using the "alpha touch controller". The color scheme on the readout is pleasing to the eye and I can't say enough about how great the sound is. The owner's manual is easy to understand the unit is easy to operate.

Weaknesses:
Still getting used to that control ball; much different than the controls on my Saphire IV in my old Volkswagen. No other weaknesses as far as I am concerned.

Similar Products Used:
None that compare. This is the first car CD player I have owned. First, but definitely not the last, Clarion product for me.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
I have a new VW Passat and I was interested in finding a unit that matched somewhat the dash interior of my car, as well as sounding good. The unit has a fold down front panel for receiving the cd ,which is also detachable. The unit has a good amplifier section, open, transparent , reasonably detailed , good tuner for am as well as fm, makes the stock speakers sound better than they actually are, has a joy stick which is awkward to use , but has a remote control, face illumination during day time is very good, even in direct sunlight, all in all a very nice unit for the money, good power output, car stereo has come up a few notches since I last bought. The five star rating i'm giving it is more of a value per dollar rating. Actually it should be 4 1/2 but there aren't any of those.
