Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $360.00 from Autobarn

Strengths:
Good value for $$$

Weaknesses:
Very poor customer service

Summary:
This unit I thought was very good until it broke. I had it sent back to Clarion who subsequently tried to blame it on my equipment which I then had tested only to find that it was all working fine. After getting back to them about this they then grudginly aggred to fix it underwarranty and sent it back to Autobarn....with some parts missing. Not only will I never buy another Clarion product again, but I strongly reccommend no one else does either.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $230.00 from A&B Sound

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Strengths:
Sound clarity, good display, ease of use.

Weaknesses:
slightly fidgity removable faceplate, but probably the users fault (me). Not used to it yet.

Summary:
I was looking for a quality replacement/upgrade to Ford''s "premium" sound system in an Escort GT. This model fit the bill perfectly, offering excellent performance, high build quality and ease of use. Due to the location of the radio in my car, I wanted a rotary control for the volume and kost models for whatever reason do not do this anymore.

Similar Products Used:
OEM, old Sparkomatic

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
Clarity Punch Skipping? Price

Weaknesses:
At this price, get a life!

Summary:
This was the best selling model at a popular car audio shop I patronise. Though stocking many more expensive items, both the salesman and the installer swore by it on grounds of sound clarity (and customer support). I am happy with the CD sound quality which is both clear and punchy. I prefered it to an also popular Alpine unit at twice the price. I made a point to test the unit by driving hard over bad roads in my (suspension free) TVR and it didn''t skip even once. Though I am no audiophile and listen to rock exclusively, I would certainly recommend an audition.
