Price Paid:  $400.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1997

Summary:
Bested when last tested with other hi bit players from Nakamichi Cd45Z and a Clarion,. Only Clarion came close and bested it in the slam factor in the Bass. Midrange and coherency were its strenghts. Overall, i would prefer this unit over the newer productions. The NMakamichi came as a disappointment, dynamics were restricted,a little on the "too safe side" but not sounding bright compared with the oldie Alpine 7909.

Strengths:
FOR AUDIOPHILES....COHERENCY,COHERENCY,TIMING IS EVERYTHING.

Weaknesses:
Finincky with some CD's...maybe it was the unit we got...unfortunately,Denon dropped out from car audio..they are only doing hi end for the Japanese market. And the new units?Wheww...$2000 and over...CRAZY.CRRRRAZY.
