Review 2 of 34

Price Paid:  $0.00 from --

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Eclipse (Fujitsu Ten) 5443

Strengths:
Easy to use
Looks good
Has alot of connection possibilities

Weaknesses:
The buttons are almost too small and are placed wierd.

Summary:
I got this stereo with my truck (1968 Chevy C10) and I am satisfied with its performance. I just started playing with it after a year of restoration and I think it is nice. I am going to put the original pushbutton back in place and hide this one somewhere else to keep the truck original. That´s why the remote is a great part of it.

Review 4 of 34

Price Paid:  $289.00 from Car Toys

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2003 5423

Strengths:
Display, ESN, face folds down quickly and perfectly, amazing preout capabilities. Addons, like the E-Com, and DSP/EQ make it easy, and fun to costomize your system, all through the head unit.

Weaknesses:
Button lay out--its just hard to get used to. Im getting a hold of it though. Run around about the warrenty sense I installed it and not car toys. I think that was cartoys and not eclipse though. Annoying brackets that are supposedly required for install get in the way for a clean factory type install. I took em off and it works fine. I only give this an overall rating of 4 stars because there are better decks from eclipse that I have not had the honor of using myself.

Summary:
Just installed the unit today, and all I can say is wow. I moved to this unit from an alpine 7859 (01 model i believe, maybe 02) and the mid and high sound quality is of no comparison. I am running the two 6.5s off of the deck directly untill I can buy an external amplifier, and it still sounds as if it IS an external amp. The 5v, 55ohm preouts helped my MTX 6500D push one 12" 6000 sub much easier, cooler and cleaner. The amplifier, with the gain at about 5/8s what it was before, runs cooler, produces much cleaner and accurate bass, and when i want, just pump up the bass from the unit and it still is a clean signal from what I can tell. I'll be back in a couple months to give a more long term review of the unit.

Review 5 of 34

Price Paid:  $450.00 from Custom Sounds of Aus

Year / Model Reviewed:
 97 Prizm

Strengths:
the CD security feature and the upgrades and the blinking red light to make it seem like you have an alarm system the motorized face plate

Weaknesses:
it didnt have radio ID like Premires do the face wasnt removable mine was stolen after 3 years

Summary:
i loved the Eclipse, the only fuss i had with it was that i had to exhange it 3 times. for some reason if manually entered the CD text myself it would crash. never had trouble with the skipping, it did skip but not enough to make it an acutal complaint. most of the skipping was caused by condensation on the lense.
