Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $1600.00 from www.extra.com.br

Year / Model Reviewed:
2006 Touch Screen KD-AR5000 JVC

Strengths:
Bonito, colorido, massa!

Weaknesses:
Um pouco caro se você não tiver dinheiro

Summary:
O rádio é de fuder. Gostei muito, tiro onda com as gatas tocando na tela com meu Stillo Schumacher Amarelo, elas adoram. O som tem qualidade mesmo e foi bem barato, mesmo eu sendo rico, achei barato.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Audiovibe

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 AR5000

Strengths:
Sound quality, flexibility, power, options, user friendly navigation of menu's and settings, colour and appearance scheme of the screen to match your dash, etc

Weaknesses:
Little bit pricey, little bit slow load times of WMA tracks and seperate folders on disks, etc

Summary:
Awesome features, combined with user-friendly menus, lots of power, input and output flexibility, etc...are all part of the reasons I chose this deck. I also chose it because it's got a nice modern contmporary design to the faceplate, which, after adjusting the colour and contrast of the display, made it match the cosmetics of the dash in my Ford Focus pretty well. I don't like a lot of other HU's because they resemble something like a spaceship console, and look totally out of place. I like how it's got Sirius control capability (waiting for the modulation box to be available here in Canada to install it still), can use the Aux jack for an MP3 player, the 5V gold-plated output jacks, etc. I like how the menus and adjustments are well thought out, how the voice support helps you operate the unit without looking at it (making driving safer), and that I can set the amp for high or low gain power. I am currently driving 2 pairs of PowerAcoustik 5x7's off the internal amp in the deck, and it does so very well, with little-to-no distortion, even at higher volume levels. I also like how the faceplate tells you if the touchscreen is "low temp", which reminds you not to beat on the stereo when it's cold out (very handy in Northern Ontario winters).

I think that this is one of (if not THE) best head units I've ever had. It's flexible, sounds clean, and looks good. I STILL haven't tried all of it's options yet, almost a year after buying it.

I reccomend JVC HU's to all of my freinds and family for their cars, and think they make a great product. Oh yeah, when I say that I paid $600+ for it, that was almost a year ago, at full price, and in Canadian Dollars. The price indicated on this site seems kinda low-ball to me...must be discount wharehouse or something...

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Audio Vibe

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 AR5000

Strengths:
Power, User Friendly menus, Sirius control, Aux imput, nicely styled, clean sound, sub control, WMA/MP3 playback, touchscreen works well (except in cold), smooth faceplate automation, picture storage and display, multi-colour demo mode, unit lets you know if it's cold or hot, can fine tune the colour and brightness of display to match guages and dash lighting

Weaknesses:
Faceplate isn't overly responsive when cold, Not a full-colour display like the AR7000 or newer models, little bit pricey

Summary:
This unit was purchased to be used in a Ford Focus ZX3 with mods done to it. I purchased it for many reasons, but the main one was, was that it's rather quite plain looking in comparison to other head units of the same age out there that resemble the console of a spaceship. I wanted something that had cosmetics that would blend more smoothly with my dash, and look less like an "afterthought". I also bought this HU because of the touchscreen, the 5V outputs, the auxillary input (good for my MP3 player), the Sirius control, and all of the options available sound wise. This unit performs like a champ, it reads even scratched disks very well, and it can play pretty loud. I currently have 4x 5x7's being driven off of it, and it pumps them without distortion, even to fairly high volumes. This unit is very user freindly, has a well conceived series of option windows to scroll through and make adjustments on, and the remote comes in handy when I want to control the deck from outside the car.

I'd reccomend this deck to anyone who wants a nice contemporary look to it, but state-of-the-art technology behind it. Also, I think JVC has always made good head units, and I like having something different than everyone else...
