Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $429.00 from Bestbuy @ Austin, Te

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Kenwood KDC-MP922

Summary:
This is the best deck I have ever used by far. The 5 volt subwoofer output is very clean, and the display can be angled, as well as the keypad (both can be changed)... the button colors can be changed, as well as many different text colors... also the audioscreensavers are okay, but don't buy this based on those. The best feature by far is the self-hiding faceplate (you can turn this off, as well as remove it completely)

Strengths:
-23watts RMS output x 4 -5volt x 3 Pre-Amp Output RCA -self-hiding faceplate -track seeking is very fast with mp3 (you can also seek within a song) -great high/low pass cutoffs

Weaknesses:
-Screen hard to read during daytime (in an angled install like a firebird) -SRS-WOW can make your audio sound worse if you use it wrong, but also can make it sound better---depends on the song

Jenson - worst Sony - second worst JVC - good Pioneer - excellent Kenwood - best

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $479.00 from Local Dealer

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Kenwood KDC-MP922

Summary:
First off, I was forced into this price by circumstance, but it was WAY worth it!! Before this I had KDC-X717, an excelon deck. This deck smashes on my old one. This deck is extramly clear and crisp. Sounds processed and healthy. If your a Kenwood freak: PICK THIS UP ASAP. I have 4 amps and this is perfect for them.

Strengths:
Sonic clairty is the best I have ever heard and this is my third system. Crossovers and EQ is extreamly helpful. SRS WOW processer is key. Even with it off, the deck sounds like you have a bomb ass EQ. You have NO need for an EQ with this deck

Weaknesses:
Buttons take a lil getting used to, but that is nit pickin
