Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $100.00 from BEST BUY (X-MAS SALE

Year / Model Reviewed:
2005 KDC-MP225

Strengths:
sound quality - good power output w/o amp - great reliability - great easy to use and install plays mp3, wma, and wave files along with reg audio cds.

Weaknesses:
it could have a better looking face and display. although the mp3 feature is great to have it somtimes takes a few seconds to read a disc. (i dont know it thats typical for all cd-mp3 players) the remote control is a bit large but just having a remote control it nice.

Summary:
not a bad deck over all. i'd give it a 9 out of 10 compared to others in its price range. i love the mp3 feature b/c i can fit about 8-12 entire albumns on one cd. probably one of the best cd revicers you can buy for under $120. except for it not reading an mp3 disc, which were probably dirty, a couple times i havent had any problems with it.

Similar Products Used:
other kenwood players, pioneer, sony, equal to most name brands but not as good as competition level players of course.

Price Paid:  $150.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
2004 mp225

Strengths:
FM sensitivity Sound Quality is good Simple to operate Remote control easy to operate

Weaknesses:
A bit on the unpleasent side to look at.

Summary:
This unit is very easy to set up and operate. It is simple, but has enough controls to let you tailor the sound a bit. There are separate bass, mid, and treble controls. I have not tried to play MP3 or WMA files with this unit. The FM tuner does a fine job at pulling in stations. It has a set of pre-amp outs so an amplifier can be easily added. Over all sound quality is good and unit is simple to operate. Perfect for someone wanting something simple and easy to use.
