Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Cinci

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 KDC 9015

Strengths:
Cool displays, SO EASY TO PROGRAM AND WORK, good mute flashy features, good quality

Weaknesses:
Kenwood is not car audio specific, unlike JL and clarion, kenwood makes home stuff too, also, kenwood is know for being more expensive... Is it a nice CD player,YES, is it worth 4 bills? NO

Summary:
Well, its got all these bells and whistles that attract a buyer, and thats good and all ,but what it comes down to is... its a great CD player that has got everything you need and then some, yeah its got the cool display, and yeah it does win points with the little flip face thing, hey, i never intended on getting it, it just came with the car, but so far,i love the damn thing!!! it works well and people go, "oh look at that, it does that thing" and im like, hell yeah it does...

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $250.00 from H.H. Gregg

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Strengths:
Good sound quality and a great tuner.

Weaknesses:
Skipping, I''m not sure if the laser needs re-aligned or what but it''s now almost impossible to listen to a cd.

Summary:
Not a bad CD player but starts skipping after about 8 months.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $300.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000/ KDC9015

Strengths:
Like I said, I love the display. The 4.5 volt preouts send a super clean signal to my Pheonix Gold amp. The motorized Dmask+ face plate is cool at first, but it gets old after a while. I also like the ability to name your discs and radio stations. Not Bad.

Weaknesses:
I bought the head unit on E-bay for 300.00. The head unit worked great for about a month, but now the power randomly clips on and off when I use the CD player. The tuner works great however. I thought the CD's were just skipping, but the display goes black for just a second when the CD skips. I also wish it had a built in crossover and EQ. I have a truck, and I don't have room for an external unit.

Summary:
I picked this head unit up on ebay. I love the display, and the preouts are clean. It sounds great. Unfortunatly, after a month it doesn't work very well anymore.

Similar Products Used:
I have used Denon, Sony, and Pioneer. This Kenwood sounds great, but the lack of an internal crossover has forced me to go back to Pioneer.

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $255.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 KDC-9015

Strengths:
It is a really great sounding head unit first of all. I have a system setup to it consisting of (2) 12" MTX 6000 Subs, and a Thunder350D MTX Amp. Its a great combination. The head unit is great to ever feature. It allows way better signal reception of FM and also has better skip control and a way cool display that is a CR2 Display, different effects even include one that has dolphins. This is a must have for anyone who has to have the best. I got it at the price resellers get it for because i work at a professional salesman job and thats that... Another thing that is awsome is that it supports CD-TEXT, you can burn or get cd's with CD-TEXT and it will scroll it across the display.

Weaknesses:
Really the only thing i dont like is that there isnt a graphic diplay set to be shown also while a clock is on it. And of course common since dont think it will last you more than 5 years with all that mechanical stuff. But i may be wrong since alot of that is alot differently built in this model.

Summary:
I would reccomend this to anyone who wants the great sound and lots of options and also some entertainment from its graphic designs. Just read the rest of my review and you will understand. And hey goto a commisioned sales store and try to get them to give you something off there is alot of markup on this hot piece. retail $399.99, wholesale $254.88.

Similar Products Used:
It compares great but there isnt much to compare it to since there isnt many as uniqe as this model is.

Review 5 of 5

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1986 Toyota Landcruiser

Strengths:
Excellent features and display. Sturdy chassis construction.

Weaknesses:
Living in fear that the MASK mechanism, with all of it's little moving parts, is going to die one day. Price (if you pay full retail).

Summary:
I bought this deck off of Ebay for $250. So far I have loved it. My truck has an extremely rough ride and the CD has yet to skip. Tuner works great. Display is clear and easy to see from all angles. I've always been a diehard Sony fan, but a friend recommended Kenwood, and now I would too.
