Review 1 of 3

Strengths:
The receiver has lots of features. 3 sets of outputs, crossover points, flip face, graphics. Remote. Decent ergonomics.

Weaknesses:
I want to write this review to note one serious drawback. The MD title does not come up until the track has played for 5 seconds. By that time, I know the song title. On my Sony home deck, the titles scroll as fast as I can change tracks.

Summary:
I would not recommend it, as the title feature of MD is one of it's main points.

Review 2 of 3

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999/2000

Strengths:
Looks, sound quality, dot matrix display, graphic equaliser, radiotext.

Weaknesses:
Price.

Summary:
This is a top class player. It looks great too. I was a bit unsure of the "piano black" finish but once it is in the car it looks ok. The number of features is very impressive with built in high pass filters for the standard speakers and a low pass for the sub out. I paid £350 (about $500) which is probably a lot more than the US price but I dont mind as it still performs fantastically.

Kenwood CD player. Good too but not as nice sounding or as good looking.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
I've had this receiver for about three months now, and I almost completely satisfied with it. It sounds great, never skips, has great features, and is visually appealing. The crossover is a bit illogical, as HPF cut off point can be higher than the LPF cut off point, both at the highest level. And I'd like it if there were a way to defeat the face flip. Other than that, I am very happy. The look of it is so much better than the horribly ugly earlier models, and the fact that all the graphics and unnecessary gadgetry can be feated is a good option. So, overall, Kenwood, again, has built another excellent product.
