Price Paid:  $209.00 from crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 mp3/wma player

Strengths:
- Good value for the price - Sounds great - Plays MP3's and WMA's - 3 sets of Pre-outs and lots of settings to tweak

Weaknesses:
- Small buttons

Summary:
I was looking for a reciever that played MP3's and had cross-over controls for the door speakers and line level outputs with a cross-over for the subwoofer. This was the cheapest unit that I could find with those features, and I bought it from Crutchfield (even though they weren't the cheapest) because they give you a free wireing harness and in-dash adapter for your car. The installation was pretty easy, especially with the wiring harness, etc. The reciever sounds worlds better than the stock unit, and I love having so much control over the way my system sounds (the menu has tons of options). Also, I've never had an MP3 player in the car, and I've really come to like it. Nothing like having 8+ hours of music on a single disc. So overall, I really like the unit (even though I'm not crazy about the way it looks or its tiny buttons) and it sounds great. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for MP3's, lots of pre-outs, and great bass control.

Similar Products Used:
Factory units, another Kenwood reciever (so long ago that it had a tape deck in it), Pioneer reciever (great radio reception)
