from onlinecarstereo.com Year / Model Reviewed: 2003 VBD 1500mp Strengths: Lots of ability. Has pre-amps for front, back and sub. MP3 support. Remote Control. Nice color display. Great sound power with loudness control. Weaknesses: It's cheap. (the unit not the price)
Seek time on the CD player is exceptionaly slow for claiming to have three laser pickup, and 8X oversampling.
Removing the faceplate is tiring. (flip down the face, turn off the unit, remove the face before it flips up)
Memory featurs are terrible on CDs especially MP3s. When power is cut from the unit, (you turn the car off) reg. CDs might replay from beginning or beginning or last track. MP3s might have to be reloaded. So you must physically hit the power button on the unit if you want to save where you were. Summary: This product has been a little iffy.
Lanzar makes it out to be a great product but it is built of cheap materials and sloppy engineering.
I gave two stars, but that is if you get the perfect unit from this bunch.
On the unit that I have, the sound tends to cut out on the left channel, and I get a lot of popping and noise.
The screen also flickers, and some lights (such as the sub or loudness indicatior) turn on and off, weather using the feature or not.
If you can get everything to work just right, and keep it working, then this is the best machine I have ever seen. (for the price)
