Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $200.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999

Strengths:
Good playing, non skip.

Weaknesses:
volume button doesn't work half the time. numbers are messed up sometimes. I don't like how you have to push the power button twice, to get the cd player/radio to come on. you push it once for just the clock, 2 for the cd/radio and a third to shut it off. you also have to wait about 3 seconds in between pushing the power button. Not too great

Summary:
Ok, the cd player worked fine at first. i have been having a few small problems with it here and there.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $200.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Yr 2000 CQ-DP303W

Strengths:
Cute and clean. High power, don't need an amp. Nice illuminated display (pleasant green)Very well made, no rough corners or protuding buttons. Loading is very smooth and 'eject'is equally smooth and steady (see weakness below). Has 'ATT'switch which proved very useful and (beyond "Level 20" of volume the ATT comes in again in a non-starteling manner [fade-in]. Nice features of Random and repeat play.

Weaknesses:
Track numbers (or radio presets)are too close together. FM reception is only above average. Removing CD after 'eject' may prove a little ackward because there is insufficient space to grasp the CD without touching the 'out-of-bounds' areas of the recorded surface of the CD. On first insertion of CD, 'reading' of the tracks is a little slow.

Summary:
I'm not sure my review is supposed to be in this product model no. I can't find CQ-DP303W. I guess it is the same as the CQ-DPX303 (except my player comes with an optional IR remote control) Overall, good power (40w x 4)and enough features packed into the little fascia. Clean good looks and the built quality is excellent. (The player I have is made by Matsuhita in Dalian, China)For USD200, i think it is an excellent buy (in my country, at least)for the power and sound qualities. Bass is deep and of good quality, the mid-rangeis very articulate and easy on the ears and the treble being highly acceptable and not harsh sounding. Overall a great * * * * buy.
