2001 DEH-P840MP Summary:
Great deck. Only problem is the flex cable that connects the detachable face to the deck can become faulty. The fix is going to pioneer's web page and ordering one the part number is GXY1005 that is for the complete kit with the new trim panel. The new cable is well reinforced so i don't think you will have to do it again.. the part is only 11.20 i think with tax and all it came out to be 19 bucks or so... its easy to replace no real experience needed ... the problem fixes the "No Power" or "Grille Doesn't Move" symptoms found in the DEH-P8400mp and DEH-P840MP Strengths:
