Price Paid:  $169.00 from Ebay (New Item)

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 DEH-550MP

Strengths:
Excellent sound quality, Easy to use

Weaknesses:
Would have liked to be able to name Radio Stations

Summary:
I love this system. Have used it only with the factory speakers in my car and therefore have never tried it very loud. The sound quality from bass to mid to highs is excellent. I choose it because of it's ability to play MP3/WMA and CD-RW and also because of the remote that can be attached to the car steering. The operation is highly intuitive and the features allow you to expand the system. It can also feed a powered sub and has a built in HPF. The preset EQs are great. The detachable faceplate is an added plus. Compared to the Sony MP40 this is a superior product. Playback quality of MP3/WMA is excellent. I like the feature where CD Titles/Track Titles are listed when the CD has CD Text or on MP3/WMA CDs. The display is also really neat and goes well with cars that have green and red lighting on the dash :). The FM reception is great too.
