Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $300.00

Summary:
Love the deck, hope it don't die on me, I've been using it for about half a year, with no problems, i use a lens cleaner every once in a while (1 month or so). Another thing, I can see this on the face of the deck, it says "Main Sub". What is that? can anyone help me out? I ain't never seen it light up ever. But, overall, I'm glad I got it, no one else around me got it, and I get straight props!!

Strengths:
Nice layout, easy control. Nice audio options, and pretty plain and simple, just how I like it. Couldn't live without the remote.

Weaknesses:
Scrolling the title is a weakness, I think it should scroll by itself. I think there should also be an extra set of RCA's for subs only, because I had to hook my amp for my subs to the rear RCA outputs. The lack of sub control kinda annoys me.

Review 2 of 6

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1999/MEH-P5000R

Summary:
I am not sure wether to recommend this headunit or not since I am really getting extremely frustated about the fact that just after going O.O.W. the MD-player went FUBAR. Probably it needs a thorough cleaning, if this will not solve the problem I am currently having I would not recommend it since the price/lifetime comparision is way too far off!

Strengths:
Good layout, good console readability and graphical representation. Easy to use and flexible audio-setup.

Weaknesses:
After about 1 year of use playback-quality starts deteriorating until no MD's can be played anymore... (ERROR -30 and ERROR -21) or just ejects disk upon trying to read TOC. When it reads a MD, playback is choppy and broken up. Probably head neads to be cleaned (although several cleaning session with an MD-lens-cleaner have had no positive results). It also might be a defective pre-read buffer or really filty lens. At the moment I am only able to use the radio... MD's cannot be read anymore.

Review 3 of 6

Summary:
I paid $380.00 for the unit. I personally like the way it looks. Although it could include a few more options. Don't get me wrong, I personally like it, but I feel as if Pioneer left out a lot. For the price it's definately a great buy, but try others before you choose.

Strengths:
Plays well, sounds really nice. Definately a difference from my stock Acura CD Deck.

Weaknesses:
When bass hits hard, noticeable delumination. Titles do not scroll unless you press a button, and then it only scrolls once. No other title settings
