Review 2 of 16

Price Paid:  $300.00

Strengths:
So many features, if you can't make it sound good, you need a new hobby. Effective, clean useful EQ and crossovers Strong Pre-outs

Weaknesses:
Weak feeling faceplate Cannot shut off internal Amp I can admit, I wouldn't pay $800 Bucks for it...but at 500 and less its a steal

Summary:
After using a deck with NO features for two years, but fantastic sound quality (Clarion HX-D10), I decided to return to my roots and see if the Premier could improve my SQ still further. Those that say this deck offers no SQ are mistaken, once properly set up, I find it loses very littly to my old deck with its 24-bitDAs. The Time alignment and AutoEQ work wonderfully, the tuner is stronger, and this deck, while occasionally brittle, sounds awesome despite the vast electronic dependency. Signal to Noise is not that important either-this deck still has 90+Db dynamic range, and better channel seperation to boot. Also, the 6.5V preouts are awesome...you can really drive your system to max with those puppies.

Similar Products Used:
Alpine, eclipse, pioneer, clarion, Aiwa, rockford fosgate...Usually decks in the 300-500 dollar range

Review 5 of 16

Price Paid:  $379.00 from John's Stereo

Year / Model Reviewed:
 DEH-P9300

Strengths:
13 band EQ Seperate crossovers for BOTH Front/Rear with selectable frequency to boot. Full control over Sub from the deck. Pre-Outs for every channel Sound-Staging controls that actually work. And you have to admit the display is the most appealing display out there. Buy the PC-Link kit, you can have all kinds of fun with it. Nothing is more fun than busting on one of your friends with the display of your radio. Think of the possibilities, it can display almost anything, and they cant turn it off!!

Weaknesses:
Soooo many adjustments for sound that it takes quite a while to get the whole system tuned in. The autoEQ did not work well at all for me, but setting it up manually did.

Summary:
I am somewhat biased in that I have owned Pioneer only decks since 1995. This one is the best one so far. You really have to visit the Pioneer site, or a local sound shop to appreciate the overflowing bundle of features this deck has to offer. I will not waste the space here to list them all, but hands down this is the best Pioneer deck I have ever owned.
