Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
Clean sound, optical in/outputs, and great looks

Weaknesses:
No tweaking capabilities with the unit alone. No frills.

Summary:
I bought this deck and loved it. It does not have many features as a stand alone unit, but when I bought the DEQ-P9...Oh my! I would put this deck against any deck ever made. This thing is beautiful

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $1100.00 from somewhere good

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Strengths:
Pristine D/A conversion and sound, for what little eq tweaking it has.

Weaknesses:
As noted, the basic eq options it has are so painfully few that your car has to be a near studio in order to appreciate the sonic merits of the deck, if you were to use it alone. So, remember: If you choose to buy this unit, make sure that you have the cash to get the DEQ-9 along with it because you are certainly going to need it. As a combination, though, they are superbly matched and will do great things for your car audio.

Summary:
This is a superior head unit but, and this is the major caveat, it is painfully bare-bones as a stand alone unit. That is, if you''re looking for big eq options with this unit alone, look elsewhere. You are pretty much obligated to get the DEQ-9 along with it to get the real goods. So, buying this unit per se is not going to cut it by any means.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $750.00 from Soundtrack

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002/Saturn L-200

Strengths:
This receiver plays exceptionally clean at very loud volumes, and the silver finish really adds to the asthetic value of any vehicle''s interior.

Weaknesses:
About 3 days after I purchased the unit, in a drunken stumper I accidentally smashed my remote while exiting my vehicle, and basically the operation functions of the unit have been cut by some 50%, hopefully the remote will be repaired soom. Not to mentions I''m getting a DEQ-P9 before the week is out and I hope I can utilize some of its features without the remote.

Summary:
This is a very clean sounding deck I have it running 2 pairs of Boston Pro components in a dual amp setup. Currently, my components are being pushed by a PPI 4400, with my single Punch DVC 12" being powered by a Phoenix Gold 350, but I''m going to replace it with a Soundstream 10.2. This deck has unlimited potential once paired with the DEQ-P9. Not to mention I purchased it along with my components for less money than the deck costs alone.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer DEH 9200, but I''m not one for all the gimmicks provided with this deck not to mention sound quality isn''t as pure.
