from somewhere good Year / Model Reviewed: 2002 Strengths: Pristine D/A conversion and sound, for what little eq tweaking it has. Weaknesses: As noted, the basic eq options it has are so painfully few that your car has to be a near studio in order to appreciate the sonic merits of the deck, if you were to use it alone. So, remember: If you choose to buy this unit, make sure that you have the cash to get the DEQ-9 along with it because you are certainly going to need it. As a combination, though, they are superbly matched and will do great things for your car audio. Summary: This is a superior head unit but, and this is the major caveat, it is painfully bare-bones as a stand alone unit. That is, if you''re looking for big eq options with this unit alone, look elsewhere. You are pretty much obligated to get the DEQ-9 along with it to get the real goods. So, buying this unit per se is not going to cut it by any means. Similar Products Used: None at this level, thus far.
