Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $350.00

Strengths:
Sound is good, MD player has good response and 3 four volt outputs is awesome, has voice drive and a cool wired remote, very good for the price of $600 but mine is even greater because i got it for half price.

Weaknesses:
Voice drive won't respond to my voice in highway conditions, screen is a little to hard to read in the daytime.

Summary:
If you don't have the convienience of MD at home, in the car, or a portable, you are greatly missing out. MD uses new technology in which only the frequencies that the human ear can process are recorded, thus saving valuable space. over 70 min of stereo and 140 min of mono onto one 2 1/2" disc. AWESOME... and to make listening in your car a pleasure pick this head unit up, call crutchfield...

Review 2 of 3

Year / Model Reviewed:
 MDX-c8900

Strengths:
Great Sound, Well organized buttons, three preamp outputs,
wired remote

Weaknesses:
none so far

Summary:
I bought this model used for $330 from someone over the net. It was a great price considering it retails for $600. Well this is an awsome MD player. It has almost every feature you could possible want. It even has voice confirmation where a woman will confirm the functions you push. I have my attached to an Sony CDX-805 changer and it sounds great. I love the wired remote that comes with the unit and you can even get an optional wireless remote too. It also has a great display that you can read from almost any angle. The sound is very clean for both MD and CD sections. You can also attach the MDXC-8900 to an digital eq or DSP unit which gives even greater control over the music. Overall this is a great MD player. Check out my webpage and you can see this baby in my car.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
Just got this unit installed yesterday (did it myself) and looks and works nice. I have had other Sony units in the past and I only wish the Sony units had a bit better amp built into them (does not seem as punchy as other units). Got mine for $ 499.99 locally.
Lots of cool features, but as usual the Sony manual is pretty bad.
