Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $159.00 from Car Toys

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Sony CDX-1000RF

Summary:
So far it works through the radio freqency 88.3. Which I think is a pain comparied to normal in-dash CD setups. It should work through an aux hookup like a cassette does...The sound is average and it takes over 30 seconds to eject a CD! On the good side: The green LCD conforms to the stock look of your console in the dash. That way it gives you a factory look to the whole stereo system. Besides, who wants to go too the dealership and have them put in an average cd player and rip you with the price of labor......

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $159.00 from GOHO Audio

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001 DCX-1000RF

Summary:
Product does what Sony says it will do. Plays well nice sound. No problems. I wanted a CD player that would go into my 1999 Tacoma 4x4 without taking out a nice cassette deck that came with the truck. Went in easy and looks like it was a factory installion.

Strengths:
Good price, Sony makes good equipment, looks nice and has a nice fit

Weaknesses:
Not many of the fancy features found on some cd decks just the basic controls.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $159.00 from Crutchfield

Year / Model Reviewed:
 N/A

Summary:
I had an earlier version of this product which was an add-on CD player for the dash. No receiver. I was all excited about having an affordable CD player in my car, but unfortunately, this was not the one. Within 2 weeks of using the player, a CD got lodged in it and refused to eject. I had to dismantel it and send it back to Crutchfield. This happened with 3 MORE PLAYERS! All 3 of them were defective. All 3 of them "ate" my CD''s, one of which was never retrieved. Sony has made some great products in the past, but this is not one of them. I''ll just stick with my Panasonic portable player with car adapter

Strengths:
Rather easy to install, but if it doesn''t work, why bother?

Weaknesses:
Eats your CD''s whole!! (And doesn''t regurgitate).
