Summary:
best money ever spent. My buddy has one of these eq'a in all 3 of his cars, made me get one, and what a difference. Even 7 years old, used and all, great product!! dont know why alpine stopped making these??but the built in eq in the head unit does no justice to the sound like this does...

Strengths:
great all around, stop complaining about how the switches are too little,,

Weaknesses:
none

Review 3 of 12

Price Paid:  $199.00 from internet

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
Simple, if you don't have this EQ, go get it. It's that good. I use it with an Alpine 7618 deck in my 94 Z28 and they both fit in the dash nicely. This EQ will definitely take your system to the next level. I use it in conjunction with a Hifonics Zeus Z8000 5 channel amp, PPI 6-1/2 components(2 sets),an Alpine CD Shuttle 5959z, and an MTX Thunderform with (1) 10" MTX600 sub. It sounds incredible. The EQ works fantastic with this setup because with 3 preouts it allows me to run the sub in mono, creating a true 5 channel system. Every aspect of your system now becomes adjustable with the addition of this EQ. It made a great system even better. Worth every penny I paid for it.

Strengths:
BBE, 3 preouts, sub croosover, stereo/mono switch for the sub,sub level. Not overwhelming, easy to use.

Weaknesses:
None

Similar Products Used:
No one compares to Alpine.

Review 4 of 12

Price Paid:  $210.00 from Internet

Summary:
This is by far the best part of my system. Paired with my Alpine CDA-7875 head unit, I don''t think you can find a better combination for the money. The sound quality is excellent and the unit is easy to use. The only thing I can really complain about is that the slide controls are hard to adjust. Knobs would be much better. You really have to play with it to get the sound you want, but once you get it set, it''s awesome. I have it installed in my Jeep Wrangler and it would be nice to have some kind of theft deterrent. Even after removing the face on the head unit, the EQ is very inviting. Maybe Alpine can come up with something. I would suggest this to anyone that wants to significantly increase the sound quality without a big investment.

Strengths:
Sounds great and it''s easy to use. X-over is a plus.

Weaknesses:
No theft deterrent. Not digital. The slide levers are hard to control.

Similar Products Used:
Kenwood. The Alpine is much better.

Review 5 of 12

Price Paid:  $10.00

Summary:
this is the best part of my system by far. you can control everything with it. i will use this in my next install without any question. but i will not put it in the dash for security purposes. looks too good to theives even when the face isnt on your deck. the touch button sub control is great also. if you purchase this you will not be dissapointed. hope you can find a good deal on it though.

Strengths:
everything

Weaknesses:
a little hard to perfect, small levers

Similar Products Used:
nothing compares
