Strengths:
soundquality is excellent, I have no problems with this. I would say its not exciting in its sound, but it doesnt add or take away anything with the sound. The hpx processor works pretty well. Raises the soundstage right up on the dash, improves the center image solidity, adds space and makes room size more apparent on music.

Weaknesses:
The hpx doesnt work as well as it should. It messes up the bass, makes it sound bloated and unrefined. seems to boost the bass around 100hz, and maybe acts like an epicenter, I dont really like that effect in my soundquality system. A little goes a long way for the effect, I would like less of it available.

Summary:
good prodict from Audiocontrol, and it works as advertised, sorta. I dont love this thing. I use it as a preamp, crossover, and processor. The crossover works well but it didnt measure 24 db on the rta, and its a pain to adjust, uses chips. You can make your own chips, thats a nice thing, and also allows you to use better resitors for better sound. The build quality is so so. Fit and finish is fine, but parts quality is kinda low. I would like aluminum faceplate, not folded sheet metal. Metal knobs or rubber covered would be nicer than plastic. The leds have not turned out to be very reliable, and the color doesnt match the color of any car I know of. Its switchable from green to orange, but neither matches any cars I have used it in. I have tried a bmw, orange, and a volvo green.

Similar Products Used:
Nothing I have ever used does what this does. I suppose the different 3d effects, headunit soundstage enhancers, and SRS sound. None work like this one, accept maybe SRS, this is similar but doesnt
