Price Paid:  $1200.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
2002 IVA-C801

Summary:
It is only fair to list my audio equipment before continuing further with this review. I have the following in my '00 BMW Z3 M Coupe: Alpine IVA-C801 CD player/screen, Alpine DHA-S680 CD/VCD/DVD changer, Alpine PXA-H510 Digital/Dolby Processor, JL Audio 150W monoblock, JL Audio 300W 4ch, Infinity Kappas 5.25", and JL Audio 10W3v2 Sub. The deck fits like a glove on my dash, though the face protrude about .4in out. I was afraid the air vent above the radio would interfere with the screen as it pops up (it did in the beginning) but found out that the screen can actually extend and additional .3in out before it flips up, giving it just enough clearance for the vent. Great option here. Sensor control on moving screen. You can really maximize the unit by installing Alpine product with Ai-net connection. The head unit interface flawlessly with the Alpine Changer and the Alpine Processor. Aside from the changer and processor input, there is AUX input and Navigation input. Multiple screen size. Multiple background color. 6 preset buttons below to screen. Much, much more feature that I cannot list all. I love the quality of the pictures from DVD.

Strengths:
picture quality and interface features.

Weaknesses:
cost and non-level flush with dash.
