Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $500.00 from sam's

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Garmin Nuvi 750

Strengths:
pretty, fairly accurate directions, better sound than the 350's

Weaknesses:
Very long startup satellite capture. I plan to return the GPS for refund.

Summary:
I'm having a lot of trouble with delay acquiring satellites. This is my 5th nuvi: two 350's, a 250 and a 660 ...the 750 and 250 are much slower, taking up to 6 minutes to lock on after being off for a few hours. They seems to be faster when off less than a half hour, which makes no sense to me.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $626.00 from rvprotectionproducts

Year / Model Reviewed:
2007 Garmin Nuvi 760

Strengths:
Read Summary

Summary:
Had my 760 a few weeks and first observations
1. My screen is really bright and I like it.No problem seeing it even at night. Seems brighter than the 680.
2.The mount seems improved also.Locks the Nuvi on better and has a quick release button.Easy to use.
3.Signal is great! Mine picks in 15-20 seconds after I turn it on.It is between 11-17 feet accuracy.
4.Love to be able to sort routes, That is what I bought it for and it works great so far.
5.The voices are good but the speaker is smaller than the 680 so they are not quite as loud but still very good.
6.Re-routes quickly when you go offtrack.
7 Road lock does not seem to be a problem, have not run in to that scenario yet.
8.Really like it being thinner than the 680. Put them side-by-side in Best Buy tonight and you could really tell. Fits in my pocket better.Best Buys 760 unit was Solid Glossy Black, Mine I like better it is Matt Black nice finish with a silver stripe in the middle

Really glad so far that I updated from the 680. Traffic works fine with the cable provided but I miss my MSN so I ordered a cable and am going to probably end up selling the GTM 20 on ebay sometime. Also I emailed Garmin about a Mapsource CD and they emailed back "it's on the way to you free". Great service. Will write more as I use the unit more.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $497.00 from Sams Club

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Garmin Nuvi 750

Strengths:
Wide Screen, bright screen, easy to read and navigate. Points of interest. Quickness of Sat. acquisition.

Weaknesses:
When I took a wrong turn the 750 would recalculate quickly but it would plot a route to get you back to your original route instead of recalculating a new route to your destination. Once you had gone far enough to eliminate any way of getting back to your original route the 750 would THEN recalcutlate to your destination. Sometimes the 750 would ask you to go completely around a city block to put you back onto your original route intstead of recalculating to your destination.

Summary:
This is my first Automotive GPS unit. So I have nothing to compare it to. Saying that, I beleive it is a quality GPS. Does everything it claims and does it with great user ease. Wide screen and large icons ie nice. Ability to bounce back and forth between screens with such ease is also very welcomed. The 750 picked up sats. very quickly. It also calculated routes very quickly. I tested the unti by making a few wrong turns and it recalculated quickly. I was impressed with the 750 but as I said before I have nothing to compare it with.
