Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $12999.00 from sotre that went outt

Year / Model Reviewed:
 bel 820

Strengths:
very sensitive, very accurate, not big like some radar detectors. City mode works perfect.

Weaknesses:
there are none that i can think off

Summary:
i have had this unit for about 4 years now and this radar detector is still running strong. This radar detector has saved me from so many speeding tickets it isnt even funny(at least 100). Bel makes the best radar detectors on the market.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $5.00 from Yard Sale

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Bel 820

Strengths:
they are very sensitive, which is good you want alot of false alerts?buy a UNIDEN.they dont work and you couldnt give me one! They pick up signals and have had a big sucess in rear detection,

Weaknesses:
yes, false alerts but there is NO RADAR DETECTOR out there that has no false alerts, all detectors detect the specified freqs and a bit more, thats why false alerts happen, alot of electronics operate in the area that radar detectors pick up! actually a frequency thats right next to the police freqs, thats why they are called WIDE BAND!!!

Summary:
Ive used Bell for Many a Years and frankly dont see what the gripes about detection is,they all work and worked fine for me!Im a garage sale person and got all my units super cheap!BUT the point is they work right?as for the warranty, mine have worked far past the year everyone says.

Similar Products Used:
Escort,Whistler,Uniden,Cobra,Etc all work good, some are tuned a bit more and can reject non radar signals to a point.

Review 4 of 5

Strengths:
Not a bad price for pretty good protection. Very simple to use.

Weaknesses:
Too many false alarms. You get used to if after awhile, but it's when you start tuning it out that you find yourself in trouble.

Summary:
It's better than nothing at all. I would recomment it if that's all you can afford. I personally would rather save my money and buy a Valentine One. I've heard nothing but good things about those detectors.

Review 5 of 5

Strengths:
Great for its price.

Weaknesses:
Does not detect long range signals; A lot of false alarms.

Summary:
price ranges from 80 to 100 (might have dropped); I would recommend it to people who do not have a lot of money to spend on fancy radar detectors. Most importantly, it does its job. There are a lot of false alarms, however, one does get used to it.

Similar Products Used:
Similar to the lower rung of the passport radar detectors.
