Strength:

excellent on the old X band, good enough on typical Ka

Weakness:

almost zero digital Ka. DONT buy this if you expect to actually speed. its more of a "warning device" than it is early warning with new technology

i dont know if this was left in the sun or if all the troopers are upgrading to digital Ka, but ive been hit a few times lately by digital Ka and had almost zero warning. a friend of mine said that all troopers are going to digital Ka. when i first bought this however, it was NICE. Nowadays, i'd say it's obsolite technology.

Strength:

Seems to work fairly well as compared to other detectors.

Weakness:

The "VG2 shielding" is a joke...as I found out first hand courtesy of Va State Police. When Escort was questioned about it, they stated that this only "reduces" the emissions. This is a far cry from what they portray in their literature.

An average detector. I would not buy it again had I known the VG2 shielding is a farce.

Strength:

The quality is there.

Weakness:

X goes off quite a bit but I would rather it go off too much than not enough.

I think this is a quality radar detector. No problems or complaints yet. A bit pricy since the technology is now outdated by the 8500. A good buy if your motivation is to cut down/eliminate the cost of speeding tickets.

x band fine k band not sure only found at some toll booths in area so far

Weakness:

ka ... my radio shack is a bit better

sorry it stinks on ka. my town uses one of those radar traliers ka band so i can do multi passes and i can be sure the radar is on. ( great test device ) i found the ka range to be about 500 feet.. multi passes on diferent days range about 500 feet. town also has 2 radar cars they transmit all the time. i find the escort can detect one car at about +1000 feet the other -500 feet as band is so wide, escort 7500 may not work well at ka band edges. i would need the counter in the 8500 for that test.

Strength:

Good so far. Good value, easy to mount, nice options.

Weakness:

The Safety Warning System is not valuable unless the highways are issuing the signals. So far in Pennsylvania and N.J. I have had zero of these warnings...

Just purchased the Escort 7500. So far so good.... It does go off as much as I had expected when travelling in cities etc... they have made lots of improvements with these things.

I have already picked up 1 radar on this (K band) and I was impressed with the range. When I passed the police car he literally had a radar gun hanging out his window and this was instant on type.... I was happy.

Today from PA to New Jersey I had an alert on X band. I thought it might be a false and continued on . About a mile up there was a police car with radar... I was moving along at a good speed but the radar went off again when the instant on was triggered... more reviews to follow in a week or so.

I will say that you get what you pay for and no one should try to compare this to a $399 device, e.g. valentine One. That is the product of choice by those that do have the extra $$$ to spend and even Escort told me that the V1 was more sensitive.

Strength:

Easy to read display, even in direct sun light. Good loud tones, and range on most signals. Programmability is nice with the defeat of X in city. Multi-split display is also cool for those city cruises.

Weakness:

Only complaint is Ka band could be better(bought before anything was heard about the 8500)

I like to drive fast and this has been the best detector to date. And since most of us can't justify the 400 some odd dollars for the Valentine with car mods and stereo installs, i guess we'll just have to do with out knowing what direction the cop is sitting in. I've got no complaints about this detector save the limited Ka sensitivity, but if it really starts to annoy me i'll just buy the 8500. I would definately recomend this dectector to anyone.

Loud, good with Ka in my area, nice that is has 4 ways to pick up radar/laser

Weakness:

x band goes off quite often

It is an excellent detector with a great reputation, the Ka band went off i thought it was a false alert, but sure enough here comes a cop, i couldn't even see him, it's got a huge range.

Strength:

The Price kicks the crap out of Valentine, while still staying comparable to valentines great preformance record.

Weakness:

The Escort cord tends to get in the way.

THe price I paid was $233.00 including tax @ best buy & I also ordered the cord for $30 bucks dircetly from ESCORT. I defenatly recommend the Escort 7500 even though it may seem a slight bit pricy to some, I believe the technology that the 7500 offers is well worth the money! Most surely a great buy!

Bel 850. The Bel tended to "false" far too many times, The Escort tends to be much less anoying.

Strength:

The sensitivity is great with this unit. Can pick up K-Band exceptionally at a far distance. Can track up to 8 radar readings and display them all with accuracy. The tone on this unit is very distinct and easy to recognize in dark mode.

Weakness:

Ka-Band seems to be a little but weak. It doesn't seem to pick up this frequency til you are in the danger zone.

I paid $229 for it at Best Buy.
