Review 2 of 11

Price Paid:  $120.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
1994 Accord EX

Summary:
This is a nice set. I wanted MB Quart but wasn't sure if the 6.5 would fit in the door so I went with Infinity. I've been pleased with the setup so far. The tweeters are great. I was looking for that crisp sound and they definitely give it to you. The 6.5s could use more mid bass though. Other than that they are great.

Strengths:
I like the color of the tweeter mounts, they go along with my grey leather interior and silver head unit. The crossover can be set up to 0 for the tweeters if -3 is too harsh on your ears. Easy to install.

Weaknesses:
Not enough bass in the 6.5.

Review 3 of 11

Price Paid:  $118.00 from Ebay-EZOrderUSA

Year / Model Reviewed:
 1995 Maxima

Summary:
Abolutely Fabulous set of speakers, unmatched by Polk or Boston, which sound screechy by comparison!!!!! Buy components over coax because components have a crossover which will eliminate the peakey characteristics of a 6.5" midbass speaker, and can compensate for the fact that your ear will be off the speaker's ideal axis by at least 45 degrees. They are unbelievable smooth sounding. Silk soft tweeter, used in only the most expensive high end home audio. These are flat-I tested them at the driver's ear(perfect for a speaker) from 45hz to 20 k, + or - 1.5db except freqs. which cancel because of placement in the auto.

Strengths:
Bass extension to 40hz (flat to 45, only 3db down at 40). You don't really need any rear speakers at all with these, unless you put a pair back there also. The bass is all there, unless you want a sub for the last octave from 40-20 hz. The crossover has a -3dB or 0 db choice for the tweeter, and you can reverse polarity to compensate for tweeter placement. This was very critical for best sound: I chose -3db and reversed polarity because my tweets were installed on the dash, in the corner of the windows. (speakers are designed assuming tweets and mids are same distance from ear. IF there is a 1" difference, there can be a 5-6Db hole (sound level 75% reduced at that point) reversing polarity + - hookup of tweeter can fix this.

Weaknesses:
None. I bought and installed four previous sets of speakers: Blaupunkt, Kenwood, Polk and Boston rx67. All were screechey compared to 6000cs infinity. Just cannot say enough good about these awesome speakers.

Similar Products Used:
Kenwood, Blaubpunkt, Polk, Boston rx67. Infinity 6000cs are audiophile quality smooth sound. THe others are puffy midbass (100hz and up) screechey (midrange +6dB... quadrupling of volume at that frequ

Review 4 of 11

Price Paid:  $70.00 from ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 infinity reference 605cs

Summary:
Bought this set of components new off of e-bay. I hooked them up to a PPI 480 which gives each 80 watts. They are rated at 90rms and 270 peak. They sounded great for the first two days I had them hooked up. I went on a road trip, played them for about an hour straight, then they burned up. Everything was hooked up correctly and they didn't short out. I think they just couldn't handle the power that they claim to be able to handle.

Strengths:
They look cool.

Weaknesses:
They are weak. Definitely get the kappas if you are going to put any significant power to them. They also smell pretty bad when the voice coils burn up.

Review 5 of 11

Price Paid:  $117.00 from EBAY

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Summary:
The sound great and for the price they can not be beat.

Strengths:
Strong mids and tweter is the same as the kappa. They sound rich and full. Very detailed.

Weaknesses:
Well I'm a carpenter and I am mecanically minded but this instalation took me a full day. I ran all new 14gage speaker wire. To make it look like it was always there I had to take off both doors and then take apart my doors. I cut the hole in the doors with a dremmel tool wich worked nice. Anyway if you use the crapy factory wire I'm sure it wouldn't as long, but my Honda wire is only 20 gage that is small! After all the work it looks great too.

Similar Products Used:
First component system, but let me say it sounds so, so much better than a two or three way speaker!!!
