Strength:

Excellent sound quality! Great distinction between clean vocals and hard bass! Friends think I have a sub or 2 in the boot! Good price if you know where to get em!

Weakness:

seriously i can't think of 1!

These speakers are awesome!!! Before these I had some sony's and the difference is "HUGE", i've also heard JBL's and Infinity's but these sound a lot better, BASS IS AMAZING! it rocks my seat!! and I only have these 2 speakers running in my whole system at the moment, very good sound quality, one of the best 6x9 avaliable... definatly the best for its price range! highly recommended!

Awesome bass

These are THE best speakers I have ever owned. My polks blew out and they were great speakers but decided to try out these Alpines. I liked my old polks and my old infinitys alot but these are just better. I have these 6x9s in the back of my 88 K-5 Blazer and 2 pairs on alpine 6.5's in the dash. The system sounds like i got a sub or two and people love the way it sounds. I am planning on buying an amp because without one I cannot reach the full potential of my speakers. These are a great buy

I peformed a ton of research for a great set of 6x9's. I reviewed MB Quart, JL Audio, Infinity, and etc... I must say the Alpine's makes a world of difference. The speakers are smooth and accurate. What I like most about them is the clarity, the more power you give them, the better they sound. Smooth and responsive bass. Almost like subs. The tweeters are grreeaatt! Not over power or dem, just perfect. I also understand that have a great head unit will help also, but with these, you don't have to set anything for them to sound great. I do plan on adding a PPI 4X50 amp to the speakers. Since I'm running 61/2 in the front and 6x9 in the rear, I think that should be plenty of power. One thing I would like to add, I think Alpine put in some type of fail-safe device. The speakers will not play at top level until about 5 minutes after they have been playing. I think this is for those people who gets in the car early in the morning and forget they left the stereo cranked up. Great Ideal Alpine.
