Price Paid:  $30.00 from Ebay

Year / Model Reviewed:
 6952i

Strengths:
Excellant highs and deep bass.

Weaknesses:
Not at all.

Summary:
These Infinity 6X9 speakers are fantastic. I only replaced factory speakers of my 2002 sunfire. Did some modifications to put them into holes. They sound well with factory deck. Also I have front speakers replaced with Infinity 4X6. I feel factory deck is not enough to get maximum out of these speakers. Will install amp.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $120.00 from Crutchfield.com

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002

Strengths:
Great factory replacement speaker. Nice tight bass (decent thump even with little power), well detailed mids and highs. Definitely an excellent product for the $.

Weaknesses:
None really at the price - very competitive with other 6 x 9's at any price.

Summary:
Bought these to replace the cheap full range 6 x 9 paper cone speakers in the rear deck of my 99 Mazda 626. Also used the 5 X 7 version in the doors. They absolutely blow the factory speakers away in every respect - no comparison whatsoever. Good bass considering I'm running them off the factory CD player. Go reasonably loud as well. These would work well as a factory replacement, or with a higher end head unit, or running them off an external amp. Overall, the sound is very detailed, with clear highs and midrange, and tight bass as well. I've had a great many car stereos in my time, and now I'm to the point where upgraded speakers with the factory deck, or perhaps adding an amp is all the car stereo that's necessary. Anything else is just for show, and its only a matter of time before all that expensive crap is stolen anyway. No, you won't blow the car next to you away, but you'll have a nice, smooth sounding system for not a lot of money. If you want really high end audiophile sound, invest in good home audio equipment. But I digress. In short, these make an excellent factory replacement speaker, and they easily fit the factory location. Vastly improved the sound of my system, even running them off the factory head unit. A higher power head unit or an external amp would improve the sound, but it's not necessary with these speakers. They are sensitive enough that even with a stock head unit, they sound great. In fact, they sound as good as any car speaker I've heard, with the possible exception of high end separates, but those cost 3-5X the price.
