Strength:

The clear, highest, and accurate ear loving sounds that emminate from these little tweeters will put you in another world. Boston has out done themselves again. Blast'em I dare u, insanely powerful little things- I've blasted them with nearly 40 watts rms and still, no distortion.

Weakness:

May have to leave the interior of the car if you turn'em up too loud.
Really? r u serious, these are flawless.

Silk dome is good, ceramic is better, then comes aluminum, and then the funky kewl stuff polk has, a mixture of different materials to make one neat little tweeter. So really, when you shell out over 150 for a pair of stinkin' tweeters, u get wat u pay for. Brands to stick to if your life depended on it? Boston. Polk. Infinity Kappa, Perfects.
All these guys have different series, also known as price brackets. The top ones all require more power to push, hence the idea here is- if u spend this much on speakers, u better have a nice amp. Unless your in competition, then the low or middle bracket will be perfect for u. Really. U don't have to shell out that much mula for quality sound.
Boston has their ProSeries, for fanatics and audiophiles- only the best!
as well as their Rally Series, for those who love audio but don't need
the insane amount of power ProSeries
speakers can handle.
above are boston components... for most domestic- u have those nice integrated speakers, which are fine. for the most part, unless u get into 500+ dollar amps, u will find it rather hard to even attempt to blow any of these speakers.
Polk has an EXII, DX, and MOMO series.
Infinity has a Reference, Kappa, and Perfect series.
If u plan to buy, LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WANT WITH ABOUT THE RIGHT POWER YOU WILL HAVE GOING TO THEM- if u mail order, don't worry... crutchfield customer service is great. word of caution, if prices seem to good to be true (online)? they are, chances are u will never get that 750 dollar amp u saw for 200 bucks on that wholesale site... :)
Good luck in building your audiostation on wheels.
For sparkling highs, Bostons are the way to go. Just check out their website to see all the wonderful products they have. That msrp price is just insane, u should be able to get'em for a good 20-30% off if your local dealer is a nice one.

Similar Products Used:

Alpine, Infinity, Polk, other Boston Rally series. These are all quality products,
personal preference may have a lot of say as to how you determine wats best for you. Truefully, any after-market will be many times better than that factory paper speaker of yours, it just depends how detailed and imaging you want your sound to actually be. Quality = more mula in most cases.

Strength:

BA pro's are one of the most overrated speakers in the car audio industry, period, I have been running pro's for a few years, had the 6.4's, the 6.5's, even the Rallys a long time ago, basically, since I didnt know any better

Weakness:

the 6.5's are somewhat of an improvement over the 6.4's, but Boston had to do something drastic, MBQuart was killing them and still is, with their Q series, but at least BA made some efort to sell you a decent set of speakers for $450, anyone who thinks they can argue with this, go to any serious sq competition, and se how many of the top competitors are running BA's, cased closed, as far as Bostons tweters, they suck, always have, still do, they cant take power, never could, I've actually seen the 6.4's x overs melt down, and I came to the conclusion it was most likely x failure that allowed the tweets to get killed, nevertheless, its BA junk

just my luck, I bought a Blazer and it had a set of Pro6.4's , in the doors, I tried to get the seller to take them and knock 100 bucks off the truck, smart guy, he said no......so thats my 3rd set of 6.4's, and I've had 2 sets of the 6.5's, which were replacements for the 6.4's, when they blew, now dont give me any crap about "amps clipping" distortion, or anything else you can say to blame me for the BA's lack of performance and inability to take power, because I know several other people that had the same problems with them that I had, in various installations, mostly high end....you want to keep your bostons going, baby them, and even then, good luck, because I've seen the tweeters blow with 20wrms...in a head installers vehicle.....end of story

want to hear a real speaker, get Diamond Hexs, then you will realise just how bad your BA pro's are..., MBQ Q's kiil BA, not to mention Focals, and several others

Model Reviewed: 1999/Neo 5t

Strength:

-Clear tight highs(very accurate)
-No distortion no matter how high you pump it.
-The detail to musical reproduction is excellent.

Weakness:

-A little bright for my taste but nothing you can't fix by adjusting the crossover.
-The price...but you get what you pay for.

I would most definitly recommend this product! Everything that Boston puts out is gold. Like I said before, the price is a bit much but you get what you pay for, and the crossover will tone down the brightness if you don't like it. For an aluminum tweet it more than met my expectations. The 5t is clear, and reproduction is true.
