Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $90.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 91' Volvo Station Wagon 240

Strengths:
They were durable. Great highs, good sound and power handling for 4". Cross em over and you shouldn't have any problems.

Weaknesses:
They picked up bass well, but if there is just a little too much going to them, they slap like the spanking you got when you first popped the birdie to your parents.

Summary:
THey were great, they lasted me the longest of all the speakers ive had, a whole 5 months, until I over powered them and blew them up. I purchased and wired an Xtant amp earlier in the day, 10 minute sinto the drive home, the tweeter blew off across my car followed by the entire voice coil. Scared the sugar out of me to say the least. As long as they are not over powered, they are a great buy, they wer eon sale from 150$, and i got them for 90$, now i htink they are down to 80$ I ran them in a big stationwagon, so they had a hollow sound to them, but they would kick great in an enclosed space.

The 5002's, Jensens, i like the 5002's better...of course

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00

Strengths:
Vega quality, nice angled tweeters, durable rubber surround, decent midrange and bass for a 4" speaker, huge magnet, friggin' loud!

Weaknesses:
Magnet size gave me trouble mounting in the rear of my 1990 Geo Storm (metal-to-metal, causing no play throughout my stereo).

Summary:
I put these in the rear of my hatchback, not expecting to hear them because of the backseat. Not only did I hear them, the sound bounced off the rear glass at the PERFECT angle thanks to the tweeters, causing some sweet sound to balance with my Vega SS-602s in the front. Good value, but don't expect these to pound like any 6x9.

Similar Products Used:
None similar, first 4" speaker used.

Review 3 of 3

Year / Model Reviewed:
 '93 Suzuki Sidekick JLX 4-dr

Strengths:
The highs are amazing, very crisp, it can be painful if you turn the treble all the way up. Rubber surrounds so they are less likely to break. Tweeters are angled so the soundstage is moved toward the ears more. One of the more costly 4" co-axials. Good Power-Handling

Weaknesses:
I purchased these for 90 dollars onsale at Best Buy. The demo unit sounded great, fairly flat eq minus the midbass/bass but you can't really expect a 4" speaker to produce that great of a midbass anyhow. When I put them in my car it sounded horrible, I think it may have something to do with my cheap pioneer 6x9's in the back, but in order to get the midrange up to the level i liked on my 4"s the 6x9's drowned it out making it sound like I only had tweeters in the front. I suppose this has to do with the fact that it's free-air instead of boxed like the demo unit at best buy.

Summary:
Paid 90 @ Best Buy, I'd recommend it if you were amping it and had it in some sort of enclosed place, otherwise don't expect much midrange, and of course no midbass

Similar Products Used:
Boston, cheap Clarion stocks..
I switched to the Bostons because they were a better value for what I was using it for and I think the midrange is slightly better then the cerwin vegas.
