Review 2 of 9

Price Paid:  $390.00 from Online

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2003

Summary:
These speakers are really amazing. If you are looking for a clear sound in your system, then check these out. I have gone thru 2 other sets 6 1/2" speakers in my Jeep Liberty. Sony (poor) and Kenwood (ok). These speakers blow them away. Worth every dollar in SQ. I am finally happy with my system. I have MTX subs with four of the 6 1/2" pollyglass. It sounds like the band is actually in my Jeep.

Strengths:
Excellent SQ for the price. You can spend much more for the same sound.

Weaknesses:
Need power. Don't think about these without at least a 250W amp.

Similar Products Used:
Sony, Kenwood,Alpine, MTX

Review 3 of 9

Price Paid:  $120.00 from JM LAB

Year / Model Reviewed:
 System 165V

Summary:
System consists of Pioneer KEH-P5850, 2 Xtant 2140c with built in crossover 12db/octave"butterworth". I have them running at around 70 watts RMS with my Focal 165V, and a single Kicker solo baric L7 12" sub running at 280 RMS. Professionally installed in a Honda Civic Vtec 98 model. Best for SPL or SQ.

Strengths:
SPL or SQ

Weaknesses:
lacks a bit of mid bass

Review 4 of 9

Price Paid:  $457.00 from Car Tunes and Toys

Year / Model Reviewed:
 Focal 165V

Summary:
Excellent!!!!!! I was using Kicker RS5's, not even close! Had a set of AVI's, see ya later AVI. Had the Quart RSD216, forget them. The Focals somehow blend everything together seamlessly. I am running 2 Kicker ZR240's to a set of Mb Quart RCW304 12 inch and the Focals. Never before have I heard music like this. I don't think the upgrade to the Kevlars would make a huge difference since they use the same tweeter. I'm sure you can achieve a better sound by spending double the price(that's what you would have to do to find better sound). Thank you Focal!!! You made me love my car stereo more than I could ever say.

Strengths:
Balanced sound, quick midbass, Smooth transition between mid and tweeter, PRICE!!!!!!!!!!

Weaknesses:
Tweeter is rather a pain to install in mounting cup.

Similar Products Used:
AVI, Kicker, MB Quart, Sony Mobile ES.

Review 5 of 9

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Summary:
I can't describe how good these sound, especially for the money. They are not harsh like MBQuarts and the drivers are much better than the MB's. I'm getting the utopia 165w's put in in two days and moving these to the back of my 95 civic coupe. I can't wait to hear how good the utopias are in comparison to these because these already sound close to perfect. BTW I'm powering them with an eclipse 3322 right now(pretty clean), but I'm getting a USAmps usa-1000x to power the utopias. Gotta have clean components all around if you want to maximize your SQ.

Strengths:
Mids are great! The titanium tweeters are very clean and loud but not too harsh. These speakers are even a great deal at their full retail of $380.

Weaknesses:
The x-overs are the only thing I'd like to see improved but for the money, they're pretty good x-overs.

Similar Products Used:
I had Boston Rally drivers and Infinty reference tweets and these are a MAJOR upgrade for me. A few of my friends have MBQ's and they are way too harsh.
