Inexpensive, Attractive, Great Highs/Mids, Sound good even with low amounts of power, Good power handling (took 75 watts RMS just fine although rated for 40 RMS max)

Summary:
I picked up 4 of these speakers to replace my factory Infinity Gold speakers because 2 of them blew out and they weren't that good anyways. First I was just looking to get a cheap replacement but after I got these I realized that I got a lot more than that. When I first got them, I was glad that my sound wasn't sounding blown out like it did with the old speakers. But then after I while I started to notice how bad my factory headunit was. So I put in a Pioneer DEH-p2500 headunit. That helped a lot, but about a month later, I decided that these speakers deserve better than that, so I took it back and got a Pioneer DEH-p7400mp Headunit. Then the sound really was great coming out of the kenwoods. The mids and highs sung out well, but the bass response wasn't what I hoped it would be. But then I finally got an external lightning audio 4 channel amp, and then these speakers really started to rock. I used them for about 3 months on the new amplifier before deciding to see if anyone else out there had better bass response. I tried the Alpine SRS-170a Speakers. I promptly took them back to the store becasue they pretty much sucked compared the Kenwoods, and they costed twice as much! I then tried Infinity Reference series. Same story, they didn't match up with the Kenwoods. With both the other brands, you could hear the vocals well, but they overpowered the rest of the song. The Kenwoods were much more tonally nuetral and sounded much better overall. I did end up finaly upgrading to Kenwood Excelon 6.5's, which blew these out of the water, but then again, they cost 5 times what these costs. I would highly recommend these speakers even over most speakers in the 100 to 120 dollars range, they are a good value and will give you a good sounding system.
