Review 1 of 3 , from mirabel, qc,canada

Price Paid:  $95.00 from friend

Year / Model Reviewed:
 jetta 1992

Strengths:
Good construction, no rattle noise on excursion, clear highs due to double tweeter design. Female voice is perfect.

Weaknesses:
Sound not so clear.. it's best used with a good set of component front that handle good mids.

Summary:
The 6976 was definetely the best 6x9 to buy 3-4 years ago under 180 $ canadian. They are rated at 160-180 watt max and 55 watts RMS. I listened to Blaupunkt (40 watt), alpine (30 watt RMS)and pioneer 6x9s and kenwood provide me the best hitting bass with good response on the lower frequency on my Pioneer headunit 45X4 mosfet. And that for ANY KIND OF MUSIC.

Similar Products Used:
Pioneer ( pop easyly), blaupunkt, clarion ( bass power), and other brands.

Review 2 of 3 , from Dell Rapids, SD, USA

Price Paid:  $170.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2000

Strengths:
Good high-end sound.

Weaknesses:
pretty much everything else about the speaker.

Summary:
The sound quality was average. the woofer blew my left nut and the overall quality of the speaker blows my other one. These speakers looked very cool and durable but that was bull_____. for the price these weren't worth it at all. The specs say they can handle up to 300 Watts peak but I blew them out with 125 Watts. These speakers can blow my nuggets.

Similar Products Used:
Boston rally series. Boston blows the Kenwoods out of the water.

Review 3 of 3 , from Waterville, ME 04901

Strengths:
Clear low-power sounds. Descent size magnet.

Weaknesses:
Cannot handle any bass, cone over-flexs to bass and hits wires to center of speaker, creating a crackly sound.

Summary:
Speakers worked could not handle the power of a small head unit. Even worse with a amp hooked up. Kenwood isn't making a very good composite cone. If looking for high quality sound buy a 6X9 from one of the following: JL Audio, Cerwin Vega, Rockford Fosgate, or Kicker. They are definitely worth the money.

Similar Products Used:
Nothing compared to JL Audios TR or VR 690.
