Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $56.00 from U-BID.COM

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001 LANZAR BX548

Summary:
THIS IS THE BEST SPEAKER YOU WILL EVER HEAR FOR UNDER $400..HOWS THAT FOR A BOLD STATEMENT? I HAVE A SET OF 43" ACOUSTIC RESEARCH TOWERS WITH 2-8", A 5" AND A TWEETER ON EACH. I UNHOOKED THEM AND SET THESE LITTLE SPEAKERS ON TOP OF MY TOWERS AND WITH MY 12" SUBWOOFER I COULDN''T TELL I HAD UNHOOKED MY TOWERS..I SWEAR THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING..SO MY BOSS NEEDED SOME SPEAKERS, I FOUND A DEAL ON INFINITY QUADRAPOLES SO I SOLD MY LANZARS., BIGGEST MISTAKE I MADE ALL YEAR. I JUST UNLOADED THE QUADRAPOLES ON EBAY THEY SUCK. I''M HAVING TROBLE FINDING THE LANZARS NOW., I CAN''T SEE PAYING $100 FOR THEM BUT THEY DO SOUND AS GOOD AS 4 TIMES THAT AMOUNT., IT''S JUST I GOT THEM SO CHEAP THE 1ST TIME I GUESS, SHOULD''VE BOUGHT 10 PAIR..MY ADVISE IS TO BUY 3 PAIR OF THESE, USE 1 PAIR FOR FRONT, 1 PAIR FOR REAR AND USE 1 SPEAKERS FOR CENTER AND YOU''LL HAVE A SPARE..THESE SPEAKERS WORK BEST WITH FULL POWER AMP U KNOW LIKE 80-120 WATTS., I DOUBT A BOOKSHELF SYSTEM WOULD RUN THEM WELL.IF U FIND ANY CHEAP PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHERE..

Strengths:
SOUND BIGGER THAN THEY ARE..DIRECTIONAL TWEETER. SOUND DEAP BUT ALSO HAVE LOUD TWEETER.

Weaknesses:
VERY HEAVY, 9 LBS EACH (MAGNET IS HUGE). GREAT FOR SHELF BUT IF U HAVE TO HANG UP BETTER FIND A STUD FOR THE SCREWS.

Similar Products Used:
NOTHING CLOSE..BUT MY $600 TOWERS

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $40.00

Summary:
I got these on UBID for $14 each plus S+H ( total = $46 ). What a steal. They sound great. Came with mounting hardware and 25' of speaker wire. They are mounted in the garage and can handle my Sony STR-DE945 with no problem ( they are hooked up to my B speaker output ). They are built like a brick sh1thouse. The housing is metal as well as the grill. They sound great and for the price, you can't touch it! If you are into fine wood cabinets, then these aren't for you. I think they would suffice as extra satelite speakers for a den or party room.

Strengths:
Bass, build quality, value

Weaknesses:
the housing is metal with BX548 printed on the back - if you care, mine are in the garage so I don't

JBL N24, Polk R10, many many others
