Alpine SWS-1241 Subwoofers

DESCRIPTION

Here's a great introduction to the bass power, affordability, and dependability that are hallmarks of Alpine Type-S subwoofers. The 12" SWS-1241 subwoofer brings out the lows your existing system simply can't reproduce. The Kevlar®-treated pulp woofer cone delivers quick-hitting bass, but is durable enough to stand up to the demands of hard play. A high excursion, 3/4" Santoprene rubber surround provides maximum cone travel, while an extended spider landing area provides extra excursion for fuller bass.A heat transfer plate limits built-up heat so your music comes across free from distortion. The tinsel leads are built directly into the tear-resistant, dual progressive Nomex spiders for long-term reliability. And technology rules at Alpine — a cutting-edge motor structure and patent-pending magnetic circuit ensure you get the most bass for your buck! The SWS-1241 is designed for use in sealed or vented enclosures.

Strength:

excellent bass don't bottom out good lows

Weakness:

not for a ported enclosure

I've got 2 12" Alpines in the custom Alpine box running off a Hart Professional Amp pushing about 140 watts rms to each sub. They gots lots of punch and awesome lows, can go as low as 30hz. My trunk literaly bows in the center, my roof shakes, just broke the glass loose on my rear view mirror. I'm in serious need of Dynomat. Great subs for the buck, i paid $250 for the pair and $150 for the box.
