Strength:

Oh my god! What can I say?! This sub hit so hard, the bass are so pounding!!! Didn't even put it to the max yet cause no need of this it blast off enough my car already! It is very good looking the magnet on it is Huge! Very versatile for any kind of setup as you have dual voice coil on this (2+2ohm)! I wouldn't buy anything else than these and I don't need another one!

Weakness:

Well for a 200$ sub you can't ask better than this! If you need more power then you're deaf or you have too much money to spend

I installed this Alpine SWR-1222D subwoofer in car, it is in a complet sealed box et is plugued in a Rockford Fosgate P450.2 amplifier wich deliver 450 watt RMS bridged. It is more than enough for my little paseo!

Model Reviewed: 2005 1222D

Strength:

huge bass... EXREMELY low cost... good aesthetics...very practical... not a huge amount of power to use them....if a JL 1000/1 can't blow them, then they are damn good

Weakness:

large mounting depth...mounting diameter not typical....need a farely deep box... other than that...NOTHING!!!!

This has got to be THE HARDEST hitting sub I have ever heard... Alpine has always been good but holy crap... I never thought it would be this good...I got a JL 1000/1 on these 2 subs and I shake everything....dollar for dollar---the best sub...must have about 500 watts RMS to really enjoy these subs

Similar Products Used:

Alpine Type S(no comparison).. Rockford T1(can't handle the power)... JL Audio W6V2(only real competitor...but Type R is WAY cheaper)
