Strengths:
Sound quality, these things sound awesome, at low levels or cranked up

Weaknesses:
too much excursion, these babies move A LOT, well at least they did in my setup. I guess thats what blew mine.

Summary:
I first bought these subs a few months ago in a private sale, in brand new condition. Two for 350 CND. I run the 2 10s off a JBL 600watt amp and they pound, and sound awesome in my hatchback. Each sub is 300watts so they match my amp perfectly. Just yesterday one stopped working at low volumes. Its blown... :( Still works cranked up, but it crackles and stops occasionally

Strengths:
Beautifully made, lots of excursion, very versatile.

Weaknesses:
None I can think of.

Summary:
I am using a single 10" in a small hatchback Mazda (323 Astina). Started with a sealed 0.75 cu.ft box and now using in a 1.25 cu.ft. box ported to 33 Hz off an Alpine V12. This thing is astounding for the power and control it has for a single 10". Big name sub brands move over. Yes this is an SQ sub but has plenty of clout.

Strengths:
very good SPL, good SQ if you want it, good power range (300 rms to 1000 peak), nice 1" rubber surrounds, nice silver kevlar-pulp cone with "Type-R" logo, sweet basket and magnet, nice spring wire connectors, just a kick-ass sub!

Weaknesses:
kinda heavy, but that's it!

Summary:
Overall, they are VERY good subs! I have 2 of them from www.zebaudio.com and paid $112.50 each for them. Now, that is a frickin steal! The perfects go for, what, $140-160? I don't think so, Infinity! And for you morons who think the Type-R's are made more for SQ, that is a bunch of crap! If you want SQ, they can handle it, but if you want SPL, hold on to your ass! They have DAMN GOOD SPL! I have an Alpine MRV-T757 V12 amp to the two subs (check out my review on the amp, too) and my god! I almost puke it's so much bass! Thank god they have that little equalizer thing on the amp to perfect the sound! But anyways, the subs are a great buy and I definately recommend these babies if you want good and very loud bass for a damn good price! Peace out!

Need multiple subs for any kind of SPL

Summary:
Very nice sub for the price. Got mine at $190 Canadian (= around $130 US), and have seen them even cheaper around $170. Definately worth the money for most listeners. Small sealed box of 0.5-0.8 cubic feet, and they deliver a nice clean sound. Geared more to SQ, so probably not for SPL competition. They are inefficient (85 db), so they need some power to get good results. Build quality is amazing at this price range. Rubber surrounds, Kevlar/pulp cone, cast aluminum basket, rubber coated magnet boot, and spring terminals make up a very well made sub. Just make sure to coat the inside of the pole piece with some rust inhibitor before installation, because for some reason it seems to be rust prone (no other parts seem to have this happen).

Overall for good SQ from a small box, at a good price, this sub is a serious contender.
