Review 1 of 29

Price Paid:  $220.00 from Stereo West

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 Alpine 12" dual voice coil sub

Strengths:
LOUD and DEEP BASS. Reasonably priced. Nice looks.

Weaknesses:
Had to sell them when I got my new car because they wouldn't fit.

Summary:
I am a huge fan of alpine equipment and these subs only reaffirm my appreciation for high end car audio equipment. These subs were so loud and hit so hard they blew out my brake lights and destroyed my trunk seal. That pretty much says it all. I ran one apline MRD-500 amp to each sub in a custom ported box.

Similar Products Used:
I only use Alpine and Infiniti.

Review 2 of 29

Price Paid:  $500.00 from a&b sound

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2003 R15, not 12

Strengths:
In response to all the retarded reviews, HEAVY IS GOOD. The heavier the sub, the bigger the magnet, the more power handling it has, the better it sounds. this sub is very heavy

Weaknesses:
sound quality does not match JL.

Summary:
This is a review for the R 15 since there is no category for it. This sub is very very tough. It can handle whatever you throw at it with zero distortion. I have a JL 500/1 running to it at 2ohms and it performs beautifully with everything I throw at it. I can sit in my driveway for hours getting a back massage. It feels like my nose is going to fall off and I'm going to throw up after a while. The SQ is very high on this sub as well. It has the finesse to round out any classical or light guitar music without being obtrusive. This sub will handle up to and including 1000 watts rms. Very durable construction.

Review 3 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00 from -

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 Alpine SWR-1241D

Strengths:
power handling and effiency, everything is good so far as i see

Weaknesses:
none yet

Summary:
Its in the box design and setup that depends on the loudness of a sub. I run in DB Drag, and was all memphis, now switching to Alpine for '04 season. Gonna put some good numbers up for them hopefully to prove these subs can do the job if you know what you are doing. I am gonna run 4 swr-1241d subs along with 4 mrd-m500 accuclassD amps running them to the max. I built a custom quad port vented box with 4 separate chambers with 1.41 cubic feet per chamber. Its going in my 2002 s10 extreme in the ext cab, which is custom fit to fill the whole ext cab part. In a month or so after completing the interior layout, with have some spl results and hopefully with be in the 150's db after some fine tuning. Alpine is gonna right in the spl someday with everyone else.

Review 4 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00

Strengths:
Nice looks Good sq Affordable DVC

Weaknesses:
None, and people quit whining about them being heavy. Grow some muscles. They might weigh 15 lbs. I mean come on.

Summary:
I bought 3 of the 1241d's for my standard cab f-150 and put them in a sealed box. The only problem is that the box i used only had about .67 cu feet per sub. So even with the MTX 81000d amp pushing 400 watts rms @ 2.3 ohms to each sub, they sound nothing like they should. I just finished a box that takes up the entire area behind my seat and gives them almost 1 cu foot per sub. I hope this will make all the difference in the world. But as it is they hit hard as hell but just will not hit the lows in that small of box, which i dont know any sub that can. So if you get these go with at least .9 cu feet per sub. I learned that it is the box that makes the sub.

Review 5 of 29

Price Paid:  $0.00 from wherever

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001

Strengths:
looks pretty nice, pretty cheap, good lows

Weaknesses:
spl

Summary:
I really dont think these subs are that bad, i think for the price they're actually pretty good. I thought the sq was as good as my w3's but nearly as loud. They can be found for pretty good prices. If people are looking at selections and subs in the Circu%t Ci^y level, theyre better than the polk momo and on the same level as an mtx 8000. sure better subs can be found and for probably less, but there pretty good subs. Not an spl champ by any means , would reccommend for sq
