Strength:

Dual 4 ohm Voice Coils make for easy configuartaion to any amp, and also make a mono load for two subs possible. Build quality, made of the same materials as Alpine's top end R-type's.

Weakness:

absolutely none

These subs produce totally seductive and utterly heart stopping bass. They give such amazing performance on all levels of play, that to say this is the best sub you'll ever find in the 150-200 dollar retail range is as close to the truth as it gets but yet in some instances can be an understatement. I've had my Alpine's out perform Eclipse Aluminum's and JL Audio W3's, which are twice the price easily, and supposedly have unsurpassed sound quality. Bottom line is simply this: if you dont want to break the bank to get outstanding bass, buy these subs. For the price of one Boston,Polk,JL, or Eclipse, you could have 3 or 4 of these and literally engulf yourself in sound quality, loud-deep bass, and enourmous amounts of air movement and cabin pressure.

Strength:

huge magnet..... hard hitting bass

Weakness:

minimal high volume distortion

these subs are great i previously had a kicker comp VR 12 and these are much louder and hit alot harder.. they seem to hit lower tones alot better than the kickers also.. these subs are pretty accurate and are some pounding stuff for not alot of money... i am running them off 2 400 watt amps. the looks of these subs are great but yet they look smaller than they actuall are..

Strength:

Bad Ass Bass Loud as hell

Weakness:

Can never be too loud

I bought two Alpine 12" SWS-1241D''s and two 300 watt Alpine amps, and that is plenty loud. I can be heard a mile away. I have a friend with the exact same stuff who is just as loud, another with two 12" Rs who can blow my ear drums. All of my friends have subs and out of them all, everyone with Alpine''s are the loudest. One SWS-1241D on 300 watts will beat 2 10" JDs on 750 watts. The price I paid ($743.75) was for two package deals. A package includes a SWS-1241D, 300 watt V12 amp and a box. One was loud enough but I put in the second for show (or so ppl can hear me). Mine have never been tested for loudness, but my friends''s system hit 145.5 decibils. I think I could do just as good! I am very pleased with my system and I will only buy Alpine products from now on.

Strength:

loud and clear for anybody with a low budjet

These subs replaced two old pioneer 10" subs that I had recieved from a friend for free. WOW, big difference they sure slam hard enough for me, with a 600 watt kenwood amp they hit clear sound. Great 10" subs for the money.

Strength:

power, loudness, accuracy, looks

Weakness:

due to the fact that they are white, they look smaller than they are

I used to have one 12" cadence mallet, and it wasn't powerful enough to cancel out road noise, so i got 2 of these subs to replace it. There is no comparison. I have these two powered by a kenwood 929 amp, and they are loud powerful and extremely accurate. They are almost perfect the bass is as clear as can be, and they are powerful enough to make my kenwood x815 head unit skip at volumes of only 28 (where 35 is max), and it isn't the head unit's fault it's just how powerful they are.

Strength:

looks good, sounds good, and the price is exceptional

Weakness:

can get a little sloppy at high volumes, but that can happen to any sub in this price range

not quite as powerful as my Orion XTRs, (Rest in Peace), but a pleasant speaker...pretty accurate, puts out a good thump, and it's just nice to look at.

Orion XTR...not quite as nice, but a good replacement for the $$$
