A little power hungry so make sure you have an amp that will run at 350 watts RMS to 500 watts RMS to get the speaker to perform optimally.
Also, if you are looking to bridge your amp, make sure you understand that if you run a parallel wiring, your amp will "see" only 1 ohm which many aren't stable at. It just gets a little confusing with how impedence works. Summary:
I had a pair of 12" Kicker Comps that were being pushed by an Alpine deck and a 500 watt Kicker Comp amp. These were about four years old and had great sound quality.
I decided to go with a 15" sub for deep and powerful bass. I ended up getting the Alpine SWR-1541D and placed it into a custom built sealed box. I reinforced the crap out of the box and I sure am glad that I did. This sub has power and great sound. I am pushing it with a Rockford Fosgate 851S (Series Wiring at 8 ohms, but the amp "sees" 4 ohms in its bridged mode) and the sub loves every bit of juice going to it. I like the sealed box because it gives the sub a little tighter bass and better response. It doesn't hit quite as hard as my brother's 12" W7 (pushed by a RF 1501) but it comes pretty damn close and has a better sound quality for rock and metal (His really hits on the hip hop bass). I had never used an Alpine sub but now would recommend using one to anyone. Similar Products Used:
