Price Paid:  $329.00 from AudioMobileInc.com

Summary:
I've had this sub (just one of them in a 1.25cu ft sealed enclosure) for about 3 years now. Before that I had 2 12" MTX Thunder 3000s, and before that 2 12" Kicker Compititions (had those for about 2 years). The MASS is easily better than those subs. One MASS plays louder at any frequency than a pair of the lesser subs mentioned above (and that's not an opinion or a guess...it's measured with an SPL meter). They aren't all about SPL, either. When I first listened to the Testament CD "The Gathering" with the MASS, I heard basslines I had never heard with the MTX or Kickers. The MASS can handle the fastest double bass drum parts without any problems whatsoever. High speed metal, especially stuff with a lot of double bass, can easily choke up subs ("Angel of Death" by Slayer played on the system of someone I know that had 2 12" MTX subs in a ported box sounded so horrible it was beyond words), but the MASS handles whatever is thrown at it extremely well...perhaps even perfectly. This isn't just some boomy ghetto sub that can only play loud at like 50-60hz, either. When I put in a bass disc and it gets down to around 20hz, I can actually see my steering wheel vibrating. It may seem pricey at $329, but when you take into consideration that it can play as loud as two $150 subs, and sound better, all while taking up less trunk space, it's really a pretty reasonable price.

Strengths:
Very tight and controlled Plays loud Plays low Plays smoothly Fits in a smallish enclosure

Weaknesses:
For those few that care, the name AudioMobile won't impress like JL, Audiobahn, etc. For the rest of us that don't, there are no weaknesses that I am aware of.

Similar Products Used:
12"x2 Kicker Compitition (the old ones, not the sh**ty new ones) - 1.5cu ft sealed/sub, 12"x2 MTX Thunder 3000 - 1.5cu ft sealed/sub

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2002 Mass 2012 s4

Summary:
Great sub for sq, not so great for spl. Looks like money. Audiomobile is a very consumer friendly company, they actually answer email !!!! This sub is flexible in box size too, so that's a real plus.

Strengths:
GREAT SQ, built very well, real nice to look at

Weaknesses:
Will not handle more than about 800 watts, not terribly loud

Similar Products Used:
eclipse alums, jbl gti's, audiobahn, etc
