from Mexico Year / Model Reviewed: 2001 Summary: This sub is as good as your skills to follow instructions, you´ve got to follow the factory box specs by the rule or else you´ll end with an expensive looking piece of conic cardboard. So, what do you get if you do follow orders? well, to the very least, a big jaw rattle as the amazing (and clear) bass crunches your bones...simply as that...I´ve got the DVC 12" version, I used to feed it with a Kenwood kac-1024 amp, and the sound was big but sloppy, that one got stolen and I traded it for a MTX Blue Thunder PRO250XD (350watts RMS @ 2ohms measured)and the bass it produces became 2 things: fast & furious!!!, the sloppy sound is out, I´m just getting big, fast, tight bass. Believe me, the secret is a balance between the Vega, the specs of the box & port and finally the quality and sound of your amp (standing ovation for Cerwin Vega and MTX). About you putting to shame most 12"s pairs and 15" singles thats not a myth, it is the real thing! Strengths: SQPL BASS!!! (I don´t think that exists! ;-D), good looking, just need one 12" to shake the girl next door (and her windows) Weaknesses: Big Box
You MUST follow factory box specs
You need a good amp to make the most out of it Similar Products Used: Punch 12", Infinity Kappa 12", Cerwin Vega XL12D, JL DVC 12". None dares to come close!!
