Review 1 of 7 , from Santa Fe, NM

Price Paid:  $70.00 from discount electronic

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 CerwinVega 12" stealth subwoofer

Strengths:
High quality die cast aluminum frames. Excellent well defined bass in small sealed enclosures. Put out tons of bass with relatively little power. Excellent price for what you get.

Weaknesses:
Sound muddy in free air installations.

Summary:
I have used 2 of these subs in a custom made box that seals each subwoofer in 0.90 Cubic feet of space. The subs are installed in the rear trunk area of a 1984 camaro powered by a very reliable inexpensive profile california amp that feeds 150 watts RMS to each sub. I have found that the subs excel in small sealed inclosures. The bass is very tight and well defined in this type of enclosure. They are also very efficient putting out plenty of bass with little wattage. The subs as I have found sound boomy when mounted in free air installations. I had concerns initially over the longevity of the paper cones. I have used these subs for over seven years showing no signs of aging on either the cones or the surrounds and their performance has not changed. The subs in my opinion are a great value considering that the frames are die cast aluminum and are generally found in more expensive speakers. The rigidity of the non-magnetic frames attribute to the very tight and controlled bass when these subs are installed in sealed enclosures.

Review 2 of 7 , from selinsgrove PA

Price Paid:  $100.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 97 kia Sephia

Strengths:
The best bass you can find; for the total money spent on the system. Head-unit cost more that box/subs and amp together..................how do you beat that!!!

Weaknesses:
you need a sealed box with ruffly1.7 to 1.5 cubic feet Per sub.( wasen't bad in the bronco2 but killed the trunk in the car)

Summary:
These subs kick a$$. I have them facin the back of the car, with the seats down. The better part is I'm pushing the subs with a roadgear 250 watt ( wal-mart 65$) amp. DB testing shows 139.4....... And people say the suck!!!!!!!!! IF ( and its big ) you know what your doing; they give the best bass I'v heard in a while. That is, for the power you have to put to them!

Review 3 of 7 , from Gregory, sd, usa

Price Paid:  $119.00

Strengths:
Make good tweeters

Weaknesses:
Cerwin forgot the bass on these subs, they should take their name off them.

Summary:
These subs suck major a$$. I had 2 12's in a 1.3 cubic inch box with 100 watts goin to each of them from a pioneer amp, and it sounded like my grandma was takin a sh*it in my trunk, no bass at all. Cerwin Vega really F*ucked up on these subs, thats why they are so cheap. I have 1 15 inch stroker right now, and im puttin 300 watts into it, and its about 5 times louder than those stealths, im not kiddin either, no joke. Dont buy these subs, they suck terrible, i cant even get 25 bucks outta each 12 right now. Stay away from the Stealths, they are so stealth you can even hear them.

Review 4 of 7 , from Canada

Price Paid:  $120.00

Year / Model Reviewed:
 96 Caravan

Strengths:
Sounded great untill it BLEW!

Weaknesses:
Cannot handle too much power! Now I will have to buy the Cerwin Vega Vega Series Subwoofer!

Summary:
At first this was a great subwoofer. Running a 200 watt Alpine amp to it seemed like it could handle alot more power. So I ran a 600 watt Kenwood amp. About 5 minutes later it was sounding distored. I took it out of the sub box and I saw that the spider riped right off the voice coil. I was VERY mad.

Review 5 of 7 , from Peetz, CO USA

Year / Model Reviewed:
 96 Ford T-bird

Strengths:
Great value, I got them with a box and it was a nice deal. They can push the bass nicely.

Weaknesses:
They could be a little more consistent with their output, and they could also use a little more power

Summary:
I think it is a great speaker for a trunk or small car. It will definately shake the mirrors with the right amp!
