$300.00 Year / Model Reviewed: Focal 27V Strengths: Bass clarity. Musicality. Good low end extension for a 10". Works well in a small box. Superb construction quality. Weaknesses: Price. It's expensive, but it's worth it. Summary: I'm powering it with 300W from a Soundstream Rubicon 604 amp, and it's installed in a 0.74 cubic ft sealed box (3/4" MDF) stuffed with half a pound of fiber fill.
This sub has superb construction quality. The woofer material is very stiff, the basket is cast metal, wire connectors are top notch, and the magnet is quite large. It came with T nuts which I highly recommend you use for any sealed box subwoofer. The T nuts ensure that you get a true airtight seal.
Bass clarity is superb and very tight. A very musical sub. Using a test CD, I got audible output down to 16 Hz. Definitely, the best sub that I've ever owned. Would buy another one in a heartbeat. Similar Products Used: JL 10W04, Soundstream SS-10R (close but no cigar), Orion XTR 12", AVI SS-250 (very musical but low power handling).
