Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $35.00 from Wal-Mart

Year / Model Reviewed:
1999 Jenson xs12w

Strengths:
22hz-2.2khz frequency response is better than most subs that cost up to 5x more!
Very inexpensive!
Long lasting!

Weaknesses:
125 watts rms is rather low... but hey for $35 who can really complain? Even the xs10w has a lower freq response then many new subs @ 26hz!

Summary:
I purchased this sub back in 1999 and it has definately passed the test. I placed it in a homemade bandpass box (built to Jenson specs - 3/4" particle board in a medium size box)with less than a foot of 12 guage internal wire and gold plated connectors. The box is connected to my pioneer amp with a few feet of 12" wire. Honestly.. you will not likely find a better sub for the money. If connected properly and used within it's limits, this sub is great! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars because you 'can' get better subs.

Price Paid:  $10.00 from walmart

Year / Model Reviewed:
2001 jenson xs12w

Strengths:
none

Weaknesses:
there cheap ass hell and there a complete waste of money.

Summary:
worthless junk never buy. cant handle nothin. sound like hell when amped to there max. over rated watt rateing. weakass construction and has a ability to make a bloppin sound and i guess thats there bass cause they all do it. never buy jensens. if u want good bass get rockford, JL, kicker, american bass, or any sub that is in there class and dont buy the cheapest ones get the middle priced ones or higher and amp them with good amps not trashy junk amps like pyrimid or any of that junk.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $4999.00 from best buy

Year / Model Reviewed:
 2001/jenson xs12w subwoofers

Strengths:
had them for 1 year and always played them hard. ever burnt out or messed up. they play good in my 3000gt. people at school can''t believe they play so good. although you really need to adjust the amp to have them hit hard.

Weaknesses:
they don''t really sound good when the volumn is really high. my blunpukt mp3 player distorts them at about level 70. they sound great at 55-65 when u have a deep cd playing.

Summary:
well made for 50 bucks. i have a legacy 800 watt connected to two of these jensons in a fairly large box. i think it is 1.25 sq. ft. for each sub. i have to put down my seats to fit the box in.
