Price Paid:  $0.00 from Audio Design (25th S

Year / Model Reviewed:
2003 GMC Envoy SLT

Summary:
I bought an SUV so that I'd have extra cargo room for packages, luggage, etc..., but needed more oomph from the stock Bose system. When I installed JL Audio's StealthBox which has a 10W3v2-D2 subwoofer, the system went from barely acceptable to highly desirable. Then I added Pioneer's AVIC-D2 headunit because I wanted more control in the right/left/front/rear panning, as well subwoofer level control and navigation, and the system went from highly desirable to downright awesome! The JL Audio 10W3v2-D2 sub is so efficient for a 10" speaker, it clearly beats most 12" subs (except for JL Audio's own 12W7 of course). It's loud AND clear! If you're looking for volume AND clarity, the 10W3v2-D2 will not disappoint. I needed deep, clean, bass, and this sub delivers! What good is a super-dooper loud sub thats muddy. The JL 10W3vs-D2 is very loud, yet still shows the subtle nuances from all types of music (rap, metal, R&B/Soul, pop, classical...). If you need a subwoofer in your truck and don't want to sacrifice space, you can't beat JL Audio's Stealthboxes.

Strengths:
Excellent bass response from a 10" speaker. I have the JL Audio STEALTHBOX, so I don't sacrifice any interior space.

Weaknesses:
I have 400 watts RMS running to my front and rear Focal speakers, and only 250 watts to my JL Audio 10W3-v2 sub. The JL Audio 10W3-v2 works so well that I actually had to turn my subwoofer volume to minus 2 or 3 (-2 or -3)!
