from Crutchfield Year / Model Reviewed: 2001 Strengths: Affordable, attractive, good sound quality. Frequency range up to 800Hz also makes them versatile. Weaknesses: You need to lay down the cash or the time for the proper enclosure to get the most of these subs. Take the time to break them in (20 hours) at low volume. Summary: If you know how to install a system, these subs are really incredible for the price. Mine are hooked up to a Profile California 400SX (100 watts per channel) and I can only imagine how much better they would sound if I had more power going to them. The important thing to remember is that you need a sealed enclosure with 1.0 cubes for each sub. Originally I had these in a small ported box I got at a pawn shop, and they sounded terrible, but now that I have a Q-Logic Type 2 enclosure they sound incredible. The SPL is certainly not competition level, but it can be heard coming down the street, and the sound quality is impressive. I don''t know why they discontinued this model, it seems about perfect for the sound mechanic on a budget. Similar Products Used: JL 12W6.
